WIZER.ME IN THE CLASSROOM

If you want to use this tool in your classroom, here comes an example of a lesson where students have to work with an interactive worksheet from Wizer.me

It's Halloween's week and the teacher has prepared a 40' lesson to celebrate this special date with her students of 4th grade. The lesson will be carried out in the ICT  room of the school, because students will need the computers to do the worksheet that was previously shared in the Edmodo group. Students are already familiarized with the tool, because the teacher has previously shown them how to do tasks in an interactive worksheet from Wizer.

WARM-UP: As a warm-up, the teacher will show students pictures of different masks, and will ask them to mention the characters the masks are representing, and to say what they know of their stories.

ACTIVITIES:

1) Students will log in to their Edmodo account, and they will open the link to the Wizer.me worksheet. The first activity will be an oral guessing game in pairs, and students are supposed to watch a video and guess which monsters are inside the box.The teacher will monitor the students during the lesson, but they won’t get a mark for the activities, since the idea is to have fun and enjoy celebrating Halloween.

2) Once students finish watching the video, they will have to do a multiple choice activity, in which they have to read riddles and guess which of the 3 options is the correct one. The worksheet gives automatic feedback, so students will know if they are choosing well or not.

3) When the riddles are ready, the following activity will be a “Spot the differences” game. The students can circle the differences in the pictures.

4) Then, students will do a word scramble activity.

Once they have finished with all the activities in the interactive worksheet, the students will sign out from Wizer.me, and then log out from the Edmodo account. The teacher will give general feedback and will clarify any vocabulary students might have found difficult.

5) Memotest: the teacher will paste flashcards of different monsters on the board, and the students will have to guess as a whole class, where the matching picture is.

6) Finally, the teacher will give students a board game to play in pairs.
